Apple's Measurement R&D group is recruiting an engineering manager to lead a team of world-class instrumentation engineers for the design and deployment of audio instrumentation systems.

Together with your team, you will brainstorm, invent, design and develop novel metrology equipment used to calibrate and test Apple's new groundbreaking technology and products. Your team's design work will range from lab scale systems -- deeply understanding technology/product to develop automated mass-production measurement tools, where balancing engineering tradeoffs between accuracy, precision, costs, lead-time and throughput is critical. With great diversity of the problem space, you will rely on your engineering background to architect the optimal solution for the problem at hand, leaning on the fundamentals of the technology.

You will work collaboratively with a creative and diverse team of experienced engineers from all disciplines including mechanical system design, core technology, product design and operations teams developing state-of-the-art measurement systems for Apple.

**Key Qualifications*** Required Experience

* BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Acoustics

* 2+ years of professional experience managing engineering teams

* High volume consumer electronics manufacturing experience

* Experience designing scalable instrumentation and HW/SW automation

* Experience working with contract manufacturers (CM)

* Experience programming in one or more of the following: C/C++/Objective-C/Python

* Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and applications to audio test and measurement* Preferred Skills

* 5+ years of professional experience managing engineering teams

* Strong technical contributor when you were an individual contributor

* Experience designing scalable instrumentation and HW/SW automation

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills**Description**

Provide leadership and direction for a team of engineers to solve complex hardware and software problems to deliver high fidelity audio calibration and instrumentation systems

Communicate progress of on-going projects with internal leadership and external partners

Recruit and train talented engineers to build and add to our world-class team

Identify areas that the team and organization can improve and innovate and be the agent of change

Estimated travel of up to 15% international travel
